In response to the article of Illum, titled ‘Miljuni mwiegħda fil-ftehim bejn il-Gvern u l-MUT- ‘Millions are promised in the sectoral agreement between the government and MUT,’ while claiming that the pay rise that educators will be given amounts to the biggest in their history, yesterday MUT issued a statement denying that it has concluded any negotiations in the educators’ sectoral agreement:
“MUT refers to a media report claiming that MUT accepted the financial proposal on the sectoral agreement and it will be a third of what it requested. The MUT categorically denies that it has concluded negotiations on the financial proposal on the sectoral agreement and it will be a third of what it requested. Negotiations are ongoing with meetings scheduled tomorrow and in the coming days.”
