Another bridge was hit by a barge – the Oklahoma Bridge accident

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a barge struck a bridge at the Kerr Reservoir near the Kerr Lock and Dam on 30th March, closing US-59 south of Sallisaw. This led to the bridge’s temporary closure as authorities examined it for damage.

As safety checks were conducted, the bridge was temporarily closed, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. As to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the structure was declared safe by engineers and reopened in the afternoon.

Thankfully there were no reported injuries, and victims, even though vehicles were passing overhead at the time of the accident.

Another ship, another day. This makes it up to three shipping accidents in a matter of two weeks.
