Occult symbols: the scarab

“Similar to the top again: the hexagram. This down here is a scarab. It’s also an Egyptian symbol of reincarnation. And where they get this from is really. Well, listen, when the Egyptians used to watch dung beetles push camel dung, little balls of camel dung across the ground, they looked at that and in their great wisdom said that’s the way the sun gods moved the sun across the sky. And they saw these dung beetles actually bury the dung into the ground and then days later, a beetle come out of it, and they assumed right away that this was that same beetle that went into the ground coming back up as a new beetle. In other words, reincarnated. Well, what actually happened was the beetle went in there and laid eggs, and one of the new beetles came out. But they looked at that and I mean that goes to show you what kind of wisdom actually goes in to build up a lot of this occult theology. But it’s a symbol again of reincarnation. In some cultures it’s also referred to as a symbol for good luck and prosperity.”
