The last part of the doom and gloom climate catastrophe scenarios which the media and scientists have been selling you

This last blog is the last piece out of three that presents you with the remaining articles out of the 32 climate predictions of the doom and gloom climate catastrophe scenarios which the media and scientists have been selling you.

In December 2007 the BBC had a slightly different prediction than the one of the same month given by the Associated Press. Citing another climate “expert” it reported:

“Arctic summers ice-free ‘by 2013’ ….Our projection of 2013 for the removal of ice in summer is not accounting for the last two minima in 2005 and 2007…So given that fact you can argue that maybe our projection of 2013 is already too conservative”.

In March of 2008 Xinhua which is China’s official propaganda mouthpiece citing a Norwegian official who wrote:

“If Norway’s average temperature this year equals that in 2007 the ice cap in the Arctic will all melt away which is highly possible judging from current conditions.”For your reference Norway’s average temperature did slightly increase from the year 2007 to the year 2008 but the ice did not melt.

Yet a month later in April 2008 there was a report in New Scientist magazine which was citing the director of the national snow and ice data centre which read: “North Pole could be ice free in 2008….There is this thin first-year ice even at the North Pole at the moment that raises the spectre the possibility that you could become ice free at the North Pole this year.”

These ice predictions kept on piling up. In June 2008 one finds the National Geographic News citing an environmental scientist which reads: “We’re actually projecting this year that the North Pole may be free of ice for the first time [in history].”

Also in the same month the Associated Press paraphrasing a NASA scientist wrote: “In five to ten years the Arctic will be free of ice in the summer.”

In December 2009 USA Today citing the former U.S. vice president Mr Al Gore wrote: “The Arctic Ocean may be nearly ice-free in summer as early as 2014.”

These predictions just kept on snowballing. In the summer of 2012 The Australian wrote this: “Enjoy snow now…by 2020 it’ll be gone.”

In July of 2013 the Guardian wrote: “Ice-free Arctic in two years heralds methane catastrophe- scientist.”

In August of 2017 The Sydney Morning Herald wrote: “Snowy retreat: Climate Change puts Australia’s ski industry on a downhill slope.” Yet the weather data shows that over in Australia it’s been snowing quite as usual in recent years.”

In January 2018 a Forbes article cited a Harvard University Professor which reads: “The chance that there will be any permanent ice left in the Arctic after the year 2022 is essentially zero.” Still till this very moment past this year there are about 5.6 million square miles of Arctic Sea ice.
In June 2018   the puppet Greta Thunberg sold to you as the climate heroine and activist shared a story on Twitter with her caption

“A top climate scientist is warning that climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years”to an article titled “Top Climate Scientist: Humans Will go extinct if we don’t fix climate change by 2023.” Is there any other human out there apart from me? For some reason Greta decided to delete this particular tweet earlier this year. But she was not the only that had to delete this earlier prediction.

In January 2020 Glacier National Park had to remove one of their signs because that sign claimed that all the glaciers would be melted away by the year 2020 which would be an awkward thing to read in the year 2020 when one can still see the glacier in the background let alone read this today in 2023!

In December 2021 the LA Times ran a story with the headline “A ‘no snow’ California could come sooner than you think.”A few weeks after this article was published researchers over at UC Berkely announced that California actually had the snowiest December on record.

Yet a year later in August 2022 Bloomberg reported: “The end of snow threatens to upend 76 million American lives.” However it’s worth noting that a few months later the Sierra Nevada mountains saw their second snowiest winter on record and California got blasted with a bomb cyclone with record levels of snow.

But then in Union Square in New York they have put up a Doomsday Clock which claims that we only have a few years left.

All these predictions did not quite pan out while clearly these climate predictionists are shooting themselves in the foot because instead of just presenting the data and the research that they were able to pull together and explain to the people their findings their rationale and the way forward it seems that they insist on continuing to issue these gloom and doom predictions one after the other.

Did any of the above predictions come true? Did any of them materialise? Their predictions were promulgated by the media and if any of us who lived in these last 60 years took them seriously we would have been not only stressed out but we would have also been wrong.
