A man dressed as a buttless rainbow monkey was hired to swing his phallus around to encourage children’s literacy.

The Redbridge Libraries Summer Reading Challenge left parents confused and outraged after it invited a man dressed in a rainbow monkey costume with his butt exposed and a large dildo hanging between his legs. As part of an event to encourage kids aged 4 to 14 to read he was brought in to promote literacy and the summer reaching challenge to kids with the dildo swinging freely from his genital area.

The promotional clip can be found online:

Parents were outraged with comments ranging from “Someone needs to lose their job over this” to “This is unbelievable. Have we completely lost our moral compass as a society?”

And even an LGBTIQA+ person showed concern:

The library which had also organised a drag queen story hour for children earlier did apologize but not before images and a video of the dancing furry pornographic creature appeared online. Shortly after an online backlash started the library issued an apology which reads:

“During an event put on at the library today there was a performance by a Carnival Arts Company. Unfortunately one of the animal costumes was inappropriate which we were not aware of at the time of booking. We deeply apologise for the offence caused. This is being looked into.”

However a grown person dressed as a rainbow monkey with a swinging phallus between his legs was clearly depicted in the event’s promotional video. “That was a shock when the monkey turned round ” a library commented on that post. To which the Redbridge Library replied even more shockingly “I know…monkey’s out of control ” with a laughing emoji. “But when you’ve got it flaunt it I suppose.”

Everyone involved in organizing the event appears to have been fully aware that a man dressed as a buttless rainbow monkey would be hired to swing his phallus around to encourage children’s literacy.
