The dudes who lecture you about carbon footprint fly in polluting corporate and private jets!

Considering that the World Economic Forum’s meeting at Davos offers a grab-bag of issues discussed in hundreds of public sessions (as well as in more secretive backroom deal-making) by business leaders in the upscale hotels along Davos’ Promenade near the conference center that hosts the gathering was the carbon footprint agenda one of these discussions?

It’s difficult to predict whether the high-level discussions will result in significant announcements that make progress on the world’s most pressing issues. But it is hypocritical for them to come up with such a carbon footprint tracking agenda when the event itself has been chastised for attracting wealthy executives who sometimes fly in polluting corporate jets!

This year both German health minister German Economy Minister and Green Party member Habeck  travelled by jet on the way to Klaus Schwab’s WEF in Davos:

While they demand you to give up your car to share to travel on bikes to live in a pod to eat bugs be happy and own nothing the elite fly private jets cruise on yachts build mansions by the ocean own luxury cars and dine on finest meat. It is called climate hypocrisy.

We are being overcharged for air travel due to the jet fuel scam because in reality no one owns the air!

The old Bill Gates the same billionaire who has also written a book titled “How To Avoid Climate Disaster” “has caused quite a bit of debate with his private jet travel. The Microsoft founder turned climate activist owns no less than four business jets which he calls his ‘guilty pleasure’. His collection is worth close to $200 million and features not one but two Gulfstream G650s. What’s more he has just invested billions of dollars in the world’s largest business jet service provider.”[1]

In his book he admits to being an ‘imperfect messenger’ because he lives in large houses and travels by private jet. According to a study conducted by Lund University in Sweden Bill Gates took 59 private jet flights in 2017 emitting approximately 1 600 tonnes of CO2 compared to the global average of less than five tonnes per person.

“Gates has defended his use of the exclusive means of transportation saying that he offsets his carbon emissions by buying clean aviation fuel and funding carbon capture.” He is so innocent in dictating how others should live while he does not practise what he preaches!
The European Commission had proposed that “private aircraft” and “yachts” are to be exempted from the carbon tax that will be levied on every other means of transportation.

And coincidentally around the time when the European Commission issued such a statement the same old Billy purchased the world’s largest private jet aviation company “Signature Aviation”.[2]

Britian’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak from his nearly billion-dollar fortune to his lavish designer wardrobe travelled by jets in his overseas trip to hold meetings with French President Macron and Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni in order to urge world leaders to honour their climate commitments made at COP26.[3]

Sunak who was also branded “out of touch” with the working class has reportedly paid more than £10 000 to fly by private helicopter to a Tory dinner in Wales.[4]

And recently this month Sunak has faced more criticism for taking two half-hour private flights of 200 miles from London to Leeds on the RAF’s 14-seat Dassault Falcon 900LX jet.  “The round-trip is believed to have used approximately 316 gallons of fuel and resulted in about three tons of carbon emissions as reported by the BBC. The same route via train takes roughly two-and-a-half hours each way and produces the equivalent of 53 pounds of CO2 per person.”[5]

These are the same dudes who lecture you about the carbon footprint.
