How a Christian physician assistant was terminated from her job because she refused to bow to the Woke’s “mission” at Michigan Health.

Can the Woke with all its media explain what kind of hate crime and hate speech was shown towards a female Christian physician assistant for Michigan Health who was terminated from her job because of her “sincerely held religious beliefs” regarding transgender people?

Valerie Kloosterman with 17 years of work experience in her baggage stated that she is heartbroken because her employers took all the relationships she had built and the patients who were under her care away from her.

“It was over something that could have easily been accommodated based on the University of Michigan’s focus on being inclusive ” Kloosterman added.[1]

Kloosterman was allegedly fired by the University of Michigan Health-West (UMH-West) in Wyoming Michigan in 2021 after she sought religious accommodation that would exempt her from having to use transgender pronouns or refer patients for transgender surgical procedures and drugs which she claimed violated the teachings of her Christian faith.

While she was expected to affirm such things in theory she claimed that she had never encountered a situation with a patient that would have required her to do so. While explaining the incident that led to her dismissal Kloosterman said:

“There was mandatory training that all employees were required to take with a multitude of questions.  Two of the questions that year were very specific in confirming that gender was fluid and I had to select the box. It was not an option for me to state my concerns and I could not complete this mandatory test without answering that question the way they wanted me to base on the university’s belief and so I raised my concerns.”
Kloosterman claimed that after addressing her concerns with her supervising provider office manager she was referred to UMH-department West’s diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) which allegedly resulted in a heated meeting.

While recounting her conversation with DEI Kloosterman said: “I said I’m a Christian which means I’m a Christian physician assistant and I cannot answer these questions in good conscience to God and understanding the harm it can do to my patients; this is not fair.”

Kloosterman then said that “The meeting became hostile. I was called evil. I was called a liar. And I very compassionately gave my point of what my concern was from a medical standpoint from my medical judgment as well as in good conscienceto God and I should never have been asked to compromise my faith to be able to do my job.”

So aren’t being called “evil” and “liar” hate speech too? These are the double standards of the two-faced Woke!

Kloosterman claimed she was “stunned” by the organization’s response claiming that her meeting with DEI quickly became “very personal” and that they were clearly not interested in having a dialogue with her.

She added that she was promised that they would then have another dialogue with her but then she heard nothing from them except to be told that she was fired.

The lawyers who are representing Kloosterman demanded her reinstatement saying in the complaint:

“Defendants targeted Ms. Kloosterman for termination because she requested an accommodation for her religious beliefs and they also violated the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment as incorporated against the states via the Fourteenth Amendment when they granted secular accommodations to other employees regarding common drugs and medical procedures while failing to grant a religious accommodation to Ms. Kloosterman regarding much more rare drugs and medical procedures.”

When Fox News Digital reached out to UMH-West for comment on Kloosterman’s case a spokesperson said: “The University of Michigan Health-West is committed to providing appropriate medical treatment to all patients while also respecting its employees’ religious beliefs. Ms. Kloosterman’s claims like those she filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission are without merit in our opinion.”

Kloosterman was particularly upset by how UMH-West allegedly spun a hypothetical situation. But MH-West spokesperson forgot to add that earlier in 2021 it had announced that it had been dubbed a “top performer for LGBTQ+ healthcare equity” by the Human Rights Campaign a leading LGBT activist group.

“Our mission requires us to relentlessly advance health for West Michigan — and there is no room in that mission to exclude anyone ” UMH-West CEO Dr. Peter Hahn was quoted in the announcement. “I’m proud of our team’s commitment to inclusion as one of our core values and their enthusiasm to keep building on our progress.”

So where is the inclusion if a Christian physicist has been fired and thus excluded simply because it is not conforming to the “mission” of UMH-West? What commitment to inclusion is this? It is clear that it is inclusive of LGBTIQ+ rights. Anyone who challenges such rights is not included.
The Woke has turned into the persecutor of conservatives Christians and anyone who does not bow to their agenda.
