Resorting to nationalism populism or euro scepticism as a response to state policy can make you lose your job and house.

I am reposting here a tweet of Gearoid Murphy about a part of a speech made on air by the Irish deputy Prime Minister Leo Varadkar while on a radio program:

“In a direct threat to ordinary Irish people Tánaiste (deputy Prime Minister) Leo Varadkar suggests those who turn to nationalism populism or euro scepticism as a political response to a state policy which has made housing inaccessible “may lose their job as well as a house””:

We have come to a state where a set of ideas have become immune from criticism satire derision or contempt thus making freedom of thought impossible. This made me remember a statement made by Robert Heinlein: “When any government or any church for that matter undertakes to say to its subjects this you may not read; this you may not see; this you are forbidden to know; [or in the above case this you can’t be against] the end result is tyranny and oppression no matter how holy the motives.”

As Jeff Brown had written “It is the quest for ‘power’ in the human psyche that is undermining our species. Because those who crave the accumulation of power are almost always motivated by the need to over-compensate for their diminished self-concepts and/or fill a hole in the ego that cannot be filled in this way. As a result we end up being governed and controlled by people who are not emotionally healthy and ethically conscionable. Their desperate need for power overrides everything. Until we find a systematic way to keep these power seekers away from positions of influence there will be no way to evolve our species. No way.”

This is why collective healing must begin through self-love love for others and an emotional release of liberated pain. It is time we create a world of loved welcomed human beings; a world of perpetual kindness; a world of authenticity; a world of the meaningful purpose of humans living with an open heart.
