On the awakening path

When we go further and deeper in our transformation, friends and family do leave us. We lose connections. We gain others. We win disconnections. All along, each has a purpose as the caterpillar becomes a butterfly.

And when you are the caterpillar, you can’t talk caterpillar language with butterfly people.

And when you become the butterfly, you can’t talk butterfly language with caterpillar people.

Some people come back later, either because they now resonate with who we have become, or because our perspective on them has altered. And a lot of them don’t.

On the awakening path, loneliness can definitely exist, befriended, and embraced, and if we are genuinely connecting with our true selves, we end up being our own closest friends. We warm up to our callings and feel motivated by a style of being that is genuinely authentic for us.

That’s not to suggest that we don’t want to meet individuals who share our values; rather, it means that when we meet with ourselves, we start looking for connections for new reasons: to reflect and strengthen who we have become, rather than to complete us.

That has a very lovely quality to it.

And when you are the caterpillar, you can’t talk caterpillar language with butterfly people.

And when you become the butterfly, you can’t talk butterfly language with caterpillar people.

Are you doing the catharsis and metamorphosis work, butterfly?
