Did Malita Investments, the government’s financial vehicle, commit fraud?

This site was contacted by a Maltese citizen informing me that back in 2022, a BOV employee contacted her to offer her the opportunity to invest money in Malita Investments and become a shareholder. It might be that this employee had some commission. This employee is no longer employed at BOV.

The citizen was given signed papers and all the necessary documents.

However, the money invested disappeared.

The citizen added that MFSA doesn’t know anything and has no clue.

Where did all the money go?

Does former MEP Marlene Mizzi, who was Malita Investments’ chairperson, know anything about this? Let us remind ourselves that Mizzi earned €24,000 a year on a part-time basis for this role. After all, we are reminded that Mizzi was requested to be removed from Housing Minister Roderick Galdes because Galdes and Mizzi disagreed about how Malita Investments plc, the “government’s financial vehicle company,” conducted its business. Do they also disagree on how the company conducted its fraud to defraud the citizens?

The Shift had noted that “it is unclear whether Marlene Mizzi’s removal from the top job at Malita Investments is related to the ongoing election fraud scandal.” What about citizens’ fraud scandal?

The citizen was quite upset. She invested money she had worked hard for and saved, hoping that in utilising them in this way, she would be able to reap fruit. She added that before the BOV employee resigned, she was informed that the shares were doing quite well. Post-resignation, the tune changed, and suddenly the shares were not doing very well. The reason given was the COVID pandemic.

Malita Investments plc – the company where the government has a majority stake and invests in affordable housing.

Malita Investments plc – the company that moved from Clyde Caruana to Roderick Galdes.

There are some rules that I go by. The first is: I never believe what the government says. The second: I never trust what the government does. The third: I hate anything the government is involved in.

Malita Investments: a corrupt déjà vu.
