How do governments collude with corporations, lobbyists, NGOs and academia to suppress your freedom? (21)

Some people are rather concerned about the governments’ attempts to control a significant portion of our personal lives that we have witnessed in this series of posts. And the temptation to completely opt out is growing stronger with every new rule and regulation. Some people are leaving the ship since they can see it sinking. They don’t know if it will definitely sink or manage to remain afloat, so rather than waiting to find out, they simply assume that leaving is a good idea because they have no idea how awful things could go.

Entrepreneur and freedom fighter Jeff Berwick* established an expat community in Chile with the goal of creating a haven for those who cherish their freedom and will not put up with government meddling in their private lives. Many people all over the world want to leave western countries because of things like increased taxes, strict regulations, all-encompassing control, being pulled out of their homes by the police ten times in a month for a search, having entire businesses taken away by regulation and fascism in the west, and a US doctor who treated nearly all of his patients for cancer in less than a month saw the SWAT team arrive, and the authorities seized everything. Sincere individuals are sick and tired of being mistreated, robbed, assaulted, imprisoned for no reason, and having their entire livelihood taken away.

*Jeff Berwick is a Canadian-Dominican entrepreneur, libertarian, freedom fighter and anarcho-capitalist activist. He founded Stockhouse.com in 1994, a company which expanded into eight different countries and had 250 employees and a market cap of $240 million, before the ‘tech bubble.’ He later sold it in 2002. He was later a Bitcoin investor, appearing on mainstream press to discuss digital currency. He founded The Dollar Vigilante, a blog focusing on gold, silver, mining stocks, Bitcoin and offshore banking in 2009. He was also host of Anarchast, an interview-style anarcho-capitalist podcast founded in 2012. In 2013 he announced his plans to co-found the world’s first Bitcoin ATM in Cyprus, for which he was attacked by the media, like Business Insider, calling the plans ‘bogus’ and ‘almost certainly nonsense.’ He launched the worlds’ first Bitcoin ATM in Cyprus in 2013 and in the same year, he promoted Galt’s Gulch Chile project, a libertarian enclave in the Curacavi region of Chile which unfortunately did not come to fruition as envisioned. He was also part of an attempt to start a free-trade zone in Honduras. In 2015, he started Anarchapulco, an annual anarcho-capitalist conference held in Acapulco, Mexico. In 2016, he acquired Dominican Republic citizenship.
