The Brazilian carnival in Rio is an annual event starting on a Friday at noon before Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent.
In 2023, it lasted from Friday 17th February to Tuesday 21st February. This time round, the 2023 Brazilian carnival put on display Satanism.
Some of the floats that went through were of Satan himself. Some dancers were dressed up in demonic imagery.
At one moment on the street, someone dressed as Satan chased Jesus down and marks him with stripes from being whipped like in the crucifixion, while chasing him down and stabbing him with a pitchfork.
