The Serpent during the Olympic Torch Relay Route

The first torch for the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay was lit by the sun’s rays on 16 April 2024 during a ceremony in the sanctuary of Olympia, Greece, where the ancient Olympics were once held. The Olympic flame then headed to Athens to board the Belem and crossed the Mediterranean Sea to Marseille. On 8 May 2024, the Olympic flame embarked on its journey across France.

On the 14th and 15th July it passed through Paris and for its arrival, the masses were given some fun entertainment and a reason to celebrate so that they leave themselves submerged in a comatose state.

There was this concert by Ofenbach and Gala’s song ‘Freed from desire’ was played, just like it was danced to by a bearded drag queen during the opening ceremony:

Can someone explain to me what is a serpent doing on the back screen behind the two DJs, with the crowd cheering on and taking photos?

What does it have to do with a torch anyway?
