The kind of peace that Robert Abela and Ian Borg talk of is not the peace that you think of (2)

“I have added this part because I was not prepared for this. So, have a loo— this is the webpage tan-NATO. You have www.nato.int. Now, let’s see how many times do they mention the word ‘peace’. Now I am do not use google, but for this case, I am using google. If you type the word ‘peace site’ and then you do a colon and the address of the webpage, and you look for the word ‘peace’ on this page only, here you have that it has been used 33,500 times. Can you see how many times do they use the word ‘peace’?

As we are here, let us check for the word ‘defence.’ And ‘defence’ is mentioned 68,200 times.

The peace that Mintoff believed in, is one in which you do not put your nose in wars – that you are a non-ally – that you are not allied with anyone. But they never mention this word—non-ally, that you are not allied with anyone. The belief of Mintoff was that you try to keep apart. That you work for peace, that you keep those involved apart. And also, and Karmenu (Mifsud Bonnici) used to insist about this after the disarm, so that they disarm themselves from weapons, right? Now, the peace that these believe in and now you are going to hear what Trump had to say while he was being interviewed from two Jewish people, from Israel, who were talking to him about this Palestine thing. This Hamas thing.

Trump: ‘That being said, you have to finish up your war. You have to finish it up. You got to get it done. And I’m sure you’ll do that. And we got to get to peace. You can’t have this going on and I will say Israel is going to be very careful because, by losing a lot of the world, you’ll lose a lot of support. But you have to finish up. You have to get the job done and you have to get on to peace.’

Did you hear him? You have to finish the job. You need to do away with,

Smajtu? You have to finish up the job. You have to cause chaos and kill anything you find in Palestine so to bring peace. And the same peace of which the government speaks of, is the same peace of which Trump has spoken of. And, after all, this is not only stated by America only. Here is the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, who says, ‘If we want peace, we must prepare for war.’ Now this is from an EU website.

So now you can see, understand and realize that when the Prime Minister mentions peace, you would know what type of peace he is referring to. He is referring to the peace that NATO and the allies refer to and that is what Mintoff used to call the peace of Cain”.
