The image of Bishop Mar Mari holding up the cross against another holding up a knife is the defining image of our times.

The image of Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel holding up the cross against another holding up a knife is the defining image of our times.

It is the persecution of Christians in the face of evil agendas.

The cross in the face of the knife can mean peace and love in the face of murder, war and hate.

It is forgiveness in the face of vengeance and harm.

It is love in the face of hate.

Saying that you are a Christian today has become offensive.

You are called crazy, with an antiquated mentality, not modern, and that you are a Jesus freak.

Anything and everything will do, except following Jesus. Because this name makes them burn inside. Why does it make them burn so much? They should be comfortable with it, if Jesus is not truly important to them.

We are going through physical, emotional and spiritual warfare. Evil is rampant because those in the top are one with this evil.

As a body of the church, we should come together over this and proclaim the name of Christ through it the whole way. We have been at war since creation. In becoming spiritually deep and true Christians, we turn from the creation of God into children of God, but also into warriors of faith. Warriors take blows from the enemy, but our battle was won at Calvary. Hallelujah for all our trials. Hallelujah for persecution. We praise you, our Lord the Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Dear God, please take this state of emergency because the people want to live happily and freely.

What is in the dark must come to light while we are up all night to glorify Your name and unite the nations, in and with love, in Jesus’ name.
