And just like we were told that we would get to normal through the marketed ‘safe and effective’ COVID-19 vaccines, the Spanish flu was also revered as a ray of hope. Thus, it was in October 1918 that Boston mayor Andrew Peters invited news crews to come along as he received a flu shot, which made thousands of Bostonians following his lead and taking this yet another revered vaccine.
And just after being marketed and promised as effective, you were told that COVID-19 vaccine’s effectiveness wanes over time, and thus you need a booster, subsequent studies found no real evidence that the flu vaccine had been effective.
The masses did not learn anything from history.
And where are we today? We do not regard the flu as dangerous and fatal, and we live with it, albeit many still flock every year to take the annual flu shot.
And COVID-19? Even though the masses were told that it is like the flu, the masses still hid in fear, and flocked to take the vaccine and the booster. But now, they are no longer afraid of it, just like people before them got used to the flu which they once were made to live through with fear, as yet another pandemic.
