It seems that not only in Malta many Maltese are being replaced in certain industries. Americans are also being treated in the same way.
Tyson Foods reportedly met with and hired migrants in Manhattan for positions in a Tennessee plant, following the company’s announcement that it was closing an Iowa pork factory, which would result in the loss of over 1,000 jobs.
Staff from the poultry industry giant, Chobani yogurt, whose CEO Hamdi Ulukaya launched the charity, met with asylum seekers at the company’s New York office after announcing its partnership with the Tent Partnership for Refugees.
Tribune News Service reports that at least 87 Central American and South American migrants were employed in two different organizations. According to the same study, Tyson employs roughly 42,000 immigrants, and the corporate social responsibility leader of the company expressed, “We would like to employ another 42,000 if we could find them.”
Sen. J.D. Vance, a Republican from Ohio, responded to the news by saying that Congress ought to investigate businesses that fire Americans while hiring foreign workers for available positions.
“We’re certainly going to look into whether we can change that [ability], assuming Tyson is operating legally,” Vance told “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Thursday.
“All we know is that they are firing American workers and hiring illegal aliens to replace them. This is the entire point of illegal immigration — and Republicans, we’ve got to hammer this point home.”
I wonder if Americans are being blamed for this, like we Maltese are, with the excuse and lie that ‘no American wants to do these types of jobs.’
