As 2024 gets underway, new laws are enacted in a number of US states.
Why does this matter? State legislators will meet again this year to discuss the most divisive issues, ranging from expanding access to birth control to Illinois’s anti-book ban law to gender-neutral toy aisles.
In the quest to further create gender confusion in your kids, stores in California will be fined if they don’t sell ‘gender neutral’ toys.
Beginning on January 1, California retailers employing more than 500 people will be penalized for failing to have a “gender-neutral” toy section. After January 1, 2024, noncompliance may result in civil penalties, which could be enforced through legal action by the state attorney general, district attorney, or city attorney. The penalties for subsequent violations could range from $250 to $500. A Los Angeles-based toy store told Fox News Digital that many stores have already been complying with the law.
The bill, which Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law in 2021, will impose a $500 fine on retailers who sell toys or childcare supplies if they do not have a gender-neutral toy section for children 12 years of age and younger. In the words of the legislation, a childcare item “means any product designed or intended by the manufacturer to facilitate sleep, relaxation, or the feeding of children, or to help children with sucking or teething.”
Greg Burt, Vice President of the California Family Research Council — a conservative public policy nonprofit group — told Fox News Digital in an interview that the law “violates the First Amendment.” He added that “this is a government-compelled speech” and that “the government is deciding to tell a religious person, could be a Muslim-owned business, that they have to use certain words to advertise toys, and those words might violate the belief systems of that particular Muslim-owned business”. “You got the government now dictating the signage in stores, about what words can be used to advertise products,” he continued. “This is opening a Pandora’s Box.”
According to the legislation, “Keeping similar items that are traditionally marketed either for girls or for boys separated makes it more difficult for the consumer to compare the products and incorrectly implies that their use by one gender is inappropriate.”
The legislation says that stores must include “a reasonable selection of the items and toys for children that it sells shall be displayed, regardless of whether they have been traditionally marketed for either girls or for boys.”
Do the douche bags want to make parents swallow that they can’t tell which toys are gender neutral? What is this world coming too?
Why are the Californians taking this and why do people continue to vote for people like this who make policies like this in their new state?
This will be just another matter of demand and supply. The only way to combat this new bullshit law and any other bullshit law that will be forced upon Americans is for the people to stop doing any business with retailers which have also turned into corporations which are in turn part of the problem.
