The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) unveiled a digital identity platform while we were all distracted with all the other things that are happening in the world. Governments everywhere will use it to carry out the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. However, they also make a commitment to uphold our rights, saying that “the governance structure is designed to create a standard model of laws and policies that will facilitate the transition to digital identities, while prioritizing individual rights.”
