Forty-one-year old James ‘Jimmy’ Poulsen, formerly from West Haven, died on April 5, 2023, “at his desk at school. He suffered a cardiac arrest, caused by a blood infection, which triggered an arrhythmia.” He taught social studies at Hamden Middle School, and also coached girls volleyball, basketball and softball. In 2022 he relocated to Ocala, FL to help his mother. He was hired at Westport High School in Ocala, FL, to teach Honors US History and was hired as assistant varsity football coach.
