Father Murr: “That’s a very good question and I think it has to do with their connection with the Second Vatican Council. I think they were so convinced that the council was going to be right, that it was right, that they bent over backwards to accomodate things that otherwise they would have known were wrong. I don’t know if I’m making any sense of that. They went overboard on defending the principles of the council and the principles of the council were what? Well, forgive everybody. Forget all of these historical mistakes, the heresies, the wars, the this, the that forgive all of that. Well, if you’re going to forgive all of that from outside then you also have to forgive everybody from the inside. And some of the people on the inside should not have been so easily forgiven. They might, they could have been forgiven but they also should have been quite quickly been replaced.”
Joe McClane: “So, who are the shadiest three characters in the vatican today that we really need to be looking out for? This new head of the doctrinal office seems to be of great concern to most…”
Father Murr: “No, no, no, no Joe, not of great concern. OUTRAGEOUS.This is insanity. This is insanity. To put such a man in charge of dogma and doctrine and the posit of faith? Are you kidding me? No, no, this was done purposely, purposely to make a mockery of the whole thing. And I’m going to tell you, this is the way I see what’s going to happen. You’ll see if I’m wrong, okay? If I’m wrong, I’ll buy you a hot dog at Coney Island. But here’s the thing. I’m convinced this is what’s going to happen. This senate, this is nonsense. It is absolute nonsense. It is utter nonsense. When that gets done, they’re going to come out and everybody in official to them is going to say oh, they’re going to ring their hands, oh we don’t know, oh we didn’t want that…of course, they wanted it to happen! This is exactly what they want to happen. This is already planned. It was planned long before it began, before day one, the conclusion was drawn. Everybody who participated, was invited to participate to get it from day one to today ultimate, to the end day. And they’re going to come up with a number of things. One of the things that they’re going to come up with is this: they’re going to say, they’re going to provide a blessing for same-sex couples. It won’t be a sacrament, and that’s how they are going to defend themselves. Well, we’re not talking marriage and this is just how it was brought into American law, right? We’re not talking marriage. We’re just talking gay rights. And then, well maybe, we should talk marriage and then maybe..This is the way it goes. They’re going to propose this and they’re going to come up with a blessing and then they’re going to tell all of the priests in the world that if a couple comes to us and asks for this, we are to perform this and that is when the Schism is going to officially be declared. Remember I told you so. Because then you will be asking, the hierarchy will be asking its priests to bless, to bless sin which cannot be done. But the good thing is that the decision will come from the other side. What I’m trying to say is we will remain Catholics.”

These are for the most part, very good men, very, very good men. They came to the point in their own consciences that they couldn’t bend any longer. This was enough. This was too much. It will be either proclaimed the validity of the king’s marrige to Anne Boleyn or off with your head. It’s that simple.”
