MEP Christine Anderson said that the true motive of 15-minute cities is not about your convenience: “15 minutes-cities, they have to have them before they can block you. So, in the UK, some counties have already passed legislation; they will be able to introduce climate quarantine,” she said. “The next step, then, of course, will be [that] you will only be allowed to leave your immediate territory… But there are other people who may have more money and can actually buy back your departures from you. So, guess what? Poor people will stay in these 15-minute blocks. But those who have a better life can go where they want.”
